This is a lovely traditional stone built villa set in its own private garden surrounded by olive trees. In a peaceful location in a small village this is a great place to relax and unwind away from it all, yet still be close enough for day excursions to the historic places of interest.
The villa is reached through a set of electric gates behind which is a large paved area. The entrance opens directly into an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner with traditional terracotta tiled floors and tiled and beamed ceiling.
The well equipped kitchen area is to the rear of the room on the left and has fitted units arranged in an ‘L’ shape with oven, gas hobs, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is a wooden dining table with four chairs to the front of the kitchen area.
A large feature open fireplace is to the right of the kitchen with a sofa arranged in front of it. There are various cupboards dotted around the room and a large cupboard under the stairs on the right which provide ample storage.
The first floor is where you find the bedroom with ensuite bathroom. This is a lovely spacious room with a large skylight over the bed and a second smaller one at the top of the stairs which allow the light to flood in. In addition to the skylights there are double doors which open out onto a balcony overlooking the outside terrace.
The double bed has an attractive scroll work headboard side tables, easy chairs and fitted wardrobes along the wall opposite the bed which is where you will find the TV with satellite, DVD and video player. The ensuite bathroom has a shower, basin, bidet and WC.
Outside the paved terrace is furnished with dining table and chairs and there is also a barbecue for guests use. The garden surrounding the villa is mainly grass planted with spruce and olive trees which provide welcome shade during the heat of the summer.
A lovely traditionally built villa set in its own grounds in a peaceful location.

Nearest town
Cavriglia is approximately 4km from the villa. Here there is a choice of shops and restaurants. Further away is Montevarchi which has all amenities including a very large hypermarket.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
