Villa Girasole at San Regolo in Brolio
Location address: San Regolo - Siena
Villa Girasole is located towards the rear of the hamlet close to the swimming pool. Steps lead up to the garden and the covered terrace which you cross to enter the villa.
The large arched glass doorway opens directly into the lounge/kitchen/diner. This is a lovely light room with the kitchen area located towards the rear of the room on the right hand side. The fitted units are arranged in an ‘L’ shape and have a dishwasher, oven, gas hobs and free standing fridge/freezer. There is a wooden dining table and six painted matching chairs to one side. Along one wall is a comfortable sofa with flat screen TV with satellite and DVD player.
To the right of the living area is a small corridor where the ground floor bedroom is located. This has a double bed, dressing table and large matching painted wardrobe. A door opens out onto the garden that runs across the rear of the property. Next door at the end of the corridor is a bathroom with corner shower, basin, WC and bidet.
Stairs from the corridor lead up to the first floor. On the left at the top of the stairs is a large storage cupboard, opposite on the right is the bathroom with corner shower, basin, WC and bidet. The spacious second bedroom has a double bed, painted dressing table and matching wardrobe. Please note that both bedrooms can be made up as twins if required, please advise us at the time of booking what configuration you require.
Outside the large covered terrace at the front of the property is furnished with dining table and six chairs. Sitting here you probably have the best views across the vineyards toward the city of Sienna on the left and the hilltop castle of Cacchiano on the right. There is a raised grass area to the rear of the villa planted with trees which both the living area and ground floor bedroom open onto, and a further very large uncovered raised terrace to the side.
The villa has either terraced or garden areas on three sides of the property with the most stunning views across the surrounding countryside.
All bedrooms can be made into twins, if you require twins please request this when booking.

Villa Girasole at San Regolo in Brolio

San Regolo in Brolio is a lovely brand new hamlet with a small collection of villas located on the edge of the village of San Regolo, and is within easy walking distance of the centre of the village.
The hamlet consists of 5 buildings housing a total of 8 apartments, each of the villas have been thoughtfully and tastefully put together, with each accommodation having their own private garden and terrace. In addition, each villa also has its own private garage for guests use.
Located on a lower terrace to the rear of the hamlet is the shared salt water swimming pool. This is a fantastic location boasting wonderful views across the vineyards and countryside to Siena and Monte Amiata in the distance behind the medieval city.
From the hamlet it’s a short walk up hill to the famous Brolio castle, which is surrounded by its own vineyards. You can visit the castle where the 32nd Baron Ricasolli and his family live. There is a restaurant serving traditional Tuscan food and you can have a wine tasting in the tasting rooms.

Pool Info
The large infinity salt water pool is located on a lower lever than the houses. It is surrounded by a pretty lawn and paved area, with a shower to one side. The entire pool area is fenced, making this an ideal property for young families. There are sunbeds and umbrellas around the pool.
The wide open views over the countryside, onto Siena and beyond can be admired from this area while you enjoy a cooling dip after a warm Tuscan day. The pool can be seen from the houses.
There is a very shallow baby pool, divided from the main pool by a metal railing, it's a good size for children to play in.
It is 15x6 meters and 1.2-2.2 meters deep. Open from May to October.

Nearest town
The nearest village is San Regolo, which is a tiny village about 100 meters away. Within 1km you get to Brolio Castle which is a lovely wine estate with a wine tasting room, and a castle to visit. Here there is a second good restaurant. Gaiole in Chianti is a town about 11km away, it has a grocery shop, baker, post office, bank and several other facilities.

Auch die Verwalterin vor Ort war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Rundum eine ganz tolle Woche mit Besuchen in Siena, Florenz, Marina die Grosseto, Castello die Brolio und natürlich Weinproben an der Chiantigiana in Castellina, Radda und Greve sowie Gaiole.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
