Il Chicchero sits in an elevated position with views across farmland, forest, olive groves and vineyards to the hills beyond. With six double bedrooms on two levels the villa is perfect for groups of friends or families wishing to holiday together.
Outside the garden wraps around the villa which has several paved terraces furnished with tables and chairs. The largest of these paved terraces runs along the rear of the building; from here you overlook the pool area and have wonderful views of the rolling Tuscan countryside.To one side of the house is a flight of steep steps leading down to the pool area which has wonderful views over the surrounding Tuscan countryside.(Please note that the owner has stated that due to the steepness of these steps the property is not suitable for children under twelve years of age). The pool has a paved surround furnished with sun loungers, tables and parasols.
The main entrance on the ground floor leads directly into a comfortable lounge furnished with three sofas and flat screen TV. To the left of the lounge four steps take you down to the large kitchen which has a dining table and chairs which would easily accommodate twelve people.
The kitchen is fitted to professional standards, and has fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven 7 burner gas hob and microwave oven. Double doors lead out onto a furnished terrace overlooking the pool which would be a lovely place to sit with a glass of local wine in the evening.
To the right of the lounge is a small corridor leading to all three ground floor bedrooms. To the right is the first bedroom which has a double bed with ensuite bathroom with shower and doors opening to the front of the house.
The second bedroom next door is a very pretty room with hand painted furniture, a four poster bed and doors to the rear of the house where there is a small furnished terrace that runs along the rear of the property. The bathroom with shower, basin, WC and bidet is located next door. The final bedroom is also located at the rear of the house and has a double bed with ensuite bathroom with shower and doors leading out onto the furnished terrace.
An external flight of stairs on the right of the house takes you up to the first floor which has been newly fitted and decorated. The front door opens directly into the lounge/kitchen/diner which has two sofas, dining table and chairs for six people a wood burner and fitted units along one wall with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven and gas hobs.
Please note that there is no conventional oven. This is also where the TV and CD player are located. From the lounge, doors lead off to the three bedrooms one to the front of the house and two at the rear. All of the bedrooms are a good size and have double beds with ensuite bathrooms with shower, WC, basin and bidet.
The house is perfect for groups of friends and families wishing to holiday together.
Il Chicchero is an ideal base to visit San Gimignano, Volterra, Pisa, Siena and the Chianti, it’s also well positioned for day trips to the coast.
A cot can be hired for an extra daily cost.
Small pets are allowed however there is a daily charge.

Please note that the owners have two pet cats. Whilst they are often around the grounds, they are not allowed into the Villa and we would discourage clients from feeding the cats so they remain outside of the Villa.

Pool Info
The pool has a paved surround furnished with sun loungers, tables and chairs. Sitting poolside you have a commanding view over the surrounding countryside. The pool has internal steps leading down into the refreshing waters at the shallow end and ladder access at the deep end.
The pool is rectangular in shape and measures ten metres by five metres and has a depth of 1.20 metres increasing to 1.70 metres at the deepest point. Please note that the pool is reached via a flight of steep steps and the owner has requested due to this that no children under the age of twelve should be in the party. The pool is open from the 1st May until 30th October.
Nearest town
The nearest town to Il Chicchero is the little village Castel San Gimignano. It is found about 2km away. It’s possible to walk to the village as most of the road is a quiet country road, only the last part is on the main road.
In the village there is a bar/cafè, restaurant and small grocery shop. Within 10km there is San Gimignano which has all amenities. There are many restaurants in the area within a few minutes drive.
A local bus stops twice a day in Castel San Gimignano.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
